Legacy Restaurant

I’m so very confused as to why the rating here is so low. I stayed at the hotel for a week and ate here for a few meals… I LOVED what I ordered…. The pistachio pesto with tuna tartare and fresh tagliatelle was wonderful… the local Lucca ravioli stuffed with meat with the ragù was exceptionally delicious… you really could taste the nuance of flavors in the sauce… the sofrito stood out… not just tossed in some tomato purée. The pasta was made fresh. The chef was clearly skilled. If you’re into espresso, they have and use an original espresso machine from 1917! I’m not sure why some reviews are saying it’s expensive. Ingredient quality is high, portions are typical, presentation is beautiful, experience is nice. Virtually Every restaurant in Italy has coperto…. Plus it is 2022, you can look at the prices before you choose to dine!

Arrived at the Grand Universe Hotel on Christmas day 2021. We enjoyed dinner at the Legacy Restaurant. The service, atmosphere and food were all excellent. A small intimate space with first class service was matched with deliciously prepared food. I had pasta with wild boar ragu and roasted salmon. Both were incredibly delicious. My husband had pasta with porcini mushrooms and a nice fillet mignon steak. A memorable Christmas dinner. Highly recommend the restaurant and hotel.
